On 21st January 2003 47 Buddy Bears which had stood on public grounds in Berlin for up to 1 ½ years were sold at an auction at the "Mercedes-Welt" at Salzufer in Berlin. The total proceeds of 171.833 € from this auction are in aid of children's and youth projects in Berlin.
